Track Record

Launching a career that found him the General Manager of national franchise chain at age 22, Chick has seen — and has fueled — more than 25 years of successful startups, turnarounds, reorganizations, mergers, acquisitions and IPOs.

Turnaround and Transformation:

Most recently, as President and CEO of Furmanite Worldwide, Inc., Chick led a successful transformation campaign, halting a pre-existing sales decline and returning the 75-year-old company to profitability in only six months. During his five-year tenure with Furmanite:

Chick and his hand picked team were the force behind 175-percent revenue growth.
In a deal that could easily be described as one of the smartest acquisition negotiations of 2005, Chick orchestrated the purchase of Flowserve’s $100 million General Service Group for $17.5 million.
Additionally, he unified and consolidated operations across 20 operating companies, improving EBIT from $3 million to more than $15 million annually.
Relying on Chick’s ability to develop a strategic roadmap and execute with precision, Furmanite has become a public company, recognized as a leading provider of technical field services and engineered solutions.

Private Equity:

In 1999, Chick was recruited by private equity firm, Baker Capital, to transform an underperforming portfolio company from a legacy system vendor to an enterprise software solutions provider.

Within two years, he rebranded S2 Systems from a tools vendor to an enterprise application solutions provider.
Achieving 22-percent CAGR, Chick’s organization was also the major profit contributor, delivering Gross Margin contributions in excess 40-percent.
Baker Capital realized a successful exit when it sold S2 to its major competitor.

Chick continues to advise a number of local and national Private Equity firms on deal flow and structure, due diligence, purchase price negotiation and underperforming assets.

Start Up and IPO:

In 1997 Chick was recruited as Vice President to led the start up efforts and IPO preparation for PFSweb, Inc. (NasdaqCM:PFSW) a BPO and third-party logistics company.

By developing and executing PFSweb’s "Brand behind the Brand" value proposition Chick grew the organization from $3 million to $70 million in outsourcing annual billings – more than $230 million in total contract value - within two years.
Chick prepared it for what would be a successful IPO. Today, PFSweb boasts annual revenues in excess of $400 million.

Consulting and Outsourcing:

This includes four years as Managing Principal and Managing Director within world-class professional services and business process outsourcing environments, and more than 8 years in helping to build and grow one of the fastest growing management consultancies of its time.

Developed industry practice strategies for IBM, Ernst & Young, CSC, Arthur Andersen, Watson Wyatt, Unisys and Oracle,
Generated triple-digit growth while significantly increasing service offerings, associate utilization and overall project size.
While leading the BPO practice for AT&T Solutions, he personally negotiated a $50 million multiyear contract with Citibank, doubling practice revenue.
